A refuge inspired by Galapagos Mystery
Discover Casa Baronesa
This beautiful and unique house is the creation of artist and milliner Cristina Morrison, known as the Baronesa. A nickname given to her by one of her bandmates in the mid-1990s, after she played the role of Eloise Von Wagner de Bousquet, one of the figures within the true story of the Floreana Island of the late 1920s. This film production brought Cristina to the Galapagos for the first time and she instantly fell in love with the magic and nature of the islands. In the late 1990s, she bought the beachfront land of Casa Baronesa when Isabela was just a fishing village and, many years later, built this house that she has turned into a curated oasis within the center of town. Here you will find objects, utensils, furniture, art pieces that have been brought from all over the world: Venice, Brazil, India, USA, Mexico, Bali and many other faraway places. We are on the Pacific Ocean, where building and bringing anything is an arduous task. We are delighted to share this home with you and ask that you treat it as if it were your own. Enjoy!
