Baroness House

This beautiful and unique house was created by artist and milliner Cristina Morrison, known as the Baroness. She received the nickname in the mid-1990s after playing Eloise Von Wagner de Bousquet in a film about the true story of Floreana Island in the 1920s. As a result of that production, Cristina traveled to the Galapagos for the first time and immediately fell in love with the islands’ nature and energy.

Later, in the late 1990s, she purchased the beachfront land where Casa Baronesa now stands, at a time when Isabela was still a small fishing village. Over the years, she transformed the property into a carefully curated oasis in the heart of town. Today, guests discover objects, furniture, and art pieces sourced from Venice, Brazil, India, the United States, Mexico, Bali, and other distant places.

Because the house sits on a Pacific island, transporting materials and building here requires significant effort. Nevertheless, every detail reflects dedication and character. We are pleased to share this home with you, and we kindly ask that you treat it as your own. Enjoy your stay.
