How to get to Galapagos
First, you must fly to mainland Ecuador, either to Quito (UIO) or Guayaquil (GYE). From there, take a direct flight to the following airports in the Galapagos:
- Seymour Airport (Baltra, near Santa Cruz).
- San Cristóbal Airport (in San Cristóbal).
Yes, you need:
- Transit Control Card (TCT): $20 USD per person, purchased at the Quito or Guayaquil airports.
- Galapagos National Park Entrance Fee: (confirm the updated rate before traveling).
- Take a free bus from the airport to the Itabaca Canal (10 minutes).
- Cross the canal on a small boat (5 minutes, cost $1 USD).
- From Santa Cruz, take a taxi ($25 USD, 45 minutes) or a public bus ($3 USD, 1 hour) to get to Puerto Ayora.
Inter-island transportation
- Speedboats: Connect Santa Cruz, Isabela, and San Cristóbal daily.
- Inter-island flights: A faster and more comfortable option, but with less frequency.
- Santa Cruz to Isabela: 2 hours.
- Santa Cruz to San Cristóbal: 2.5 hours.
- Isabela to San Cristóbal: Requires a stopover in Santa Cruz (4-5 hours).
